South Hagerstown and Frederick High School’s varsity volleyball match turned into a battle of wills Monday night in Hagerstown. South would walk away with the 3-1 win, but Frederick showed it can stay within striking distance with one of the area’s top teams.
The Rebels would take the first set 25-21, with Frederick rallying to take set two in overtime 27-25. South would then hold on to win two extremely close sets 25-22 and 25-23.
Nia Roberts lead the Cadets with 16 kills, Isabel Koselak had 14. Meghan Pierle recorded 41 assists on the night and Hannah Whang had 23 digs. Jordyn Pierce had 4 aces for FHS.
