Frederick High Schools boys varsity soccer team defended its Intra City Title Tuesday night at Cadet Stadium defeating Thomas Johnson 4-1.
The Patriots who were favored in the contest and looking to take back the crown for the first time since 2010, fell into a whole early when Cadet senior Cristian Urbina found sophomore Orlando Mendoza for the first goal of the game at the eleven minute mark.
Two minutes later Urbina would assist on a Gerald Norgbe goal and the Cadets would take a demanding 2-nil lead into halftime.
Thomas Johnson would rally when Jack Topper scored an unassisted Patriots goal in the second half to cut Frederick’s lead to 2-1.
Urbina wasn’t done on the night and the play maker would score the Cadets third goal of the night with an assist from junior Dalton Shifflett.
Shifflet would add an unassisted insurance goal with eight minutes left in the contest and Frederick would go on to win their 8th straight Intra City Championship.
