Frederick High School Athletic Director Keivette Hammond has named Cheri Herschman the Cadets new Head Girls Volleyball Coach.
Herschman comes to Frederick High School with extensive coaching experience with volleyball and softball. Over the past 15 years, she had coached both travel and rec volleyball and softball while continuing to play herself. Her most recent experience coaching was with Maryland (WHC) Fever at the elite level who had 12 of 16 players continuing playing in college.
In college, Cheri played intercollegiate Volleyball and Softball at CCBC and McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College). During her time, she was named Academic All-American at CCBC and named to the all-conference team for both sports. As a volleyball setter and defensive specialists (now libero), Cheri studied the strategy of the game and looks to use the skills of the team to help win games.
Cheri is a native of Howard County, Maryland and recently move to Frederick County two years ago. She has twin 24 year old daughters. Alexandra played softball at McDaniel and Hood graduating in 2018. She is currently working in the Baltimore City School system and is the varsity softball coach at her school. Abby was a gymnastics for most of her life and moved to the dance team in high school. She currently is pursuing her PhD at Columbia University. Cheri’s husband is retired military and firefighter and currently owns a small business located in Millersville, MD.

Cadet Athletics looks forward to using Coach Hershamn’s skill set in helping mentor student athlete so we can achieve new heights with in the volleyball program, and prepare our student-athletes physically, mentally, academically and or athletically for their next chapter, whatever that maybe after high school.
