Shippensburg University starting goalkeeper Delaney Shifflett is off to a strong start in 2019. The junior has the Raider’s Women’s Soccer Team sitting at 2-0 after their first week of play.
The 2017 FHS graduate posted two shut outs in her first two contests, while also recording 8 saves. Delaney recorded 6 saves in the teams 1-0 home win over The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown on September 5th. On September 7th she grabbed 2 saves in another 1-0 win, this time on the road at Frostburg State.
Shifflett won the starting goalkeeper job at Shippensburg a Division II school at the start of her freshman year. Last year she appeared in 17 of Shippensburg’s 18 matches, making 16 starts. She ranked second in the PSAC Conference in saves per match (7.41) and fourth in total saves (career-high 126).
Delaney is majoring in applied physics while seeking a minor in mathematics while at Shippensburg.
