Girls Varsity Basketball · Jalynn Montgomery picks Potomac State

Frederick’s Jalynn Montgomery has committed to continue her education and basketball career at Potomac State College.

The senior girls’ basketball forward will sign her letter of intent tomorrow May 15th at 5:15pm in The Sabre Center.

Montgomery finished her career at Frederick this past season winning her second straight MPSSAA 3A West State Championship. She earned Frederick News-Post All-County Honorable Mention honors.

Potomac State College of West Virginia University is a junior college affiliated with West Virginia University and located in Keyser, West Virginia. It is West Virginia’s only residential junior college.

Potomac State College athletics teams are known as the Catamounts, named after the cougar and mountain lions that once roamed the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia. Potomac State is a member of the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference, super-entity of the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association (PCAA), in partnership with the National Junior College Athletic Association(NJCAA), and competes against other two-year colleges throughout the eastern United States.

Potomac State’s Womens’ Basketball team finished 2019 with a 19-6 record and advanced to the NJCAA Region XX DII Semi-Finals for Head Coach Jim Walton.
